Night Riding Module

Night riding unlocks a completely different riding experience — quieter trails, heightened focus, and the thrill of moving through the landscape by headtorch. But once the sun sets, leadership responsibilities change.

Our MIAS Night Riding Course equips qualified leaders with the skills and confidence to plan and deliver safe, enjoyable rides after dark.

During this 5-hour practical course, you’ll develop:

  • Night-specific navigation techniques

  • Strategies for managing group spacing and communication

  • Hazard awareness and reduced-visibility risk management

  • Adjustments to pacing and rider wellbeing

  • Equipment considerations and emergency planning

By the end of the course, your leadership remit will be extended to include night rides, allowing you to offer clients and groups a whole new dimension of riding.

E-bikes are transforming mountain biking, opening up bigger routes, longer days, and new riders. But leading an e-bike group requires a different mindset, sharper planning, and an understanding of how power assistance changes group dynamics.

Our MIAS E-Bike Leadership Training course is designed for qualified leaders who want to confidently manage and deliver rides involving electric mountain bikes — whether in mixed analogue and e-bike groups or dedicated e-bike sessions.

Across this one-day training and assessment, you’ll explore:

  • The key differences between analogue and e-bikes

  • How power assistance affects pace, fatigue, and rider management

  • E-bike specific pre-ride checks and mechanical considerations

  • Route planning for battery range and terrain

  • Leadership strategies for mixed groups

This course gives you the skills and confidence to safely embrace the growth of e-mountain biking while maintaining professional standards of delivery.
